Gunnar Porsche sponsors announced & innovative charity raffle

This is how the number 75 Gunnar Porsche appeared during testing, with the slogan "the dots are coming" across the windscreen. Now we can reveal that the dots will become film reels for race week with sponsorship from Warner Vision France and Warner Records.

The team has also announced that they are launching a raffle to raise funds for a local (to Le Mans) hospital and the prize will be a brand new VW Beetle to drive away on race morning. The car will be present with the team's 911 GT3 at scrutineering in the Place des Jacobins on Monday and that is also when the raffle will be officially launched. The prize will also be part of the driver parade on the Friday evening.

Tickets will be 50FF each and will be on sale all week until race day when the lucky winning ticket will be drawn. It is not confirmed, but it is hoped that the car, once awarded, will be able to drive a lap of the circuit during the morning's festivities and that the car will be decorated in the same colour scheme as the race entry. Full details of where and how to buy tickets will be announced at the circuit.

The car has been bought and generously donated by Sila, a new company for wireless data services, applications & solutions for enterprises, professionals & consumers throughout Europe. The plan has the full blessing of the ACO and SEM organisers (who have both been instrumental in the planning) and it is the first time anything like this will have happened in the race's long history. Click on the logo to find out more about Sila and their products / services.

The race entry is still in France where it has remained since testing and the Gunnar team are now back with the car preparing it for the coming week. Team owner Kevin Jeanette (and also proud father of the race's second youngest participant when his son Gunnar, seen above during testing, takes to the wheel next week), has been working flat out on the project and his extremely enthusiastic approach will bear fruits next week for sure.

The very best of luck to the team and huge applause for a truly innovative and worthy initiative.
