917-037
February 3, 2004
Now that
we're done with the 24 Hours of Daytona, it's flat out on
the 917 and some of the other Gunnar projects. In these photos,
we are installing the front inner wheel wells.
All the
parts are hand fabricated and glassed in one piece at a time. When
the cars were made, this process was really messy and we try
to install the inner fenders with a little more finesse.
The small
hump is the cover for the lower control arm. Today, the other
side was made and will be installed tomorrow.
While
I'm finishing the wheel wells, Martin is bending the second
door frame. We will start the hinges on Thursday.
I'm finishing
the left front inner fender. Tomorrow, we'll flip the car
upside down and do the last glass seaming of the floor to
the fender wells.
